I was only a kid then but I remember zidane being SOOOOO good and I remember watching football italia on sundays just to watch Zidane.I liked Lazio back then they had funny players like Negro and Nesta. nedved was great then as well. At madrid he was older, less pace and agility so he adapted, he used his technique more effectively and became a better team player.
